Opal Portfolio: Hall Residence I

We had the amazing opportunity this past year to work on a complete remodel in Provo, UT. The before photos are pictures we took the first time we walked through the house. We were thrilled to hear that the Hall's were remodeling EVERYTHING about the home. We had a blank slate to create their dream home with.

BEFORE

Ooh, la, la. Too bad we had to say good bye to the light pink wallpaper. This room, formally the living room, is now the den. We did have to keep the fireplace in it's existing location, so to balance out the room, we placed a table and lamp on the side with the larger wall.

This is the entry way which has now been expanded and altered to fit the powder bath as well as a larger entry way. We also added a transom to break up the entry from the kitchen and dining room. A transom is a great way to transition spaces.

AFTER

This is the entry now... a lot more light, and a little more width makes the space feel so much bigger! Since powder rooms are a place to get creative, we decided to make this little powder room masculine and moody. We painted the space darker and kept with deep rich tones. It is a fun contrast to the rest of the house.

We love how the sconces turned out! These sconces are so unique and have such a masculine feel to them. We kept everything in the house very square and straight lined - inspired by Prairie Style design.

The den is a room to sit back and watch TV, use the computer, and hang out by the fire. During the day this room is light and cheery from all the windows, at night, this room feels like a den. We love the room layout with the two big chairs and a comfy ottoman - perfect for watching your favorite show.

The art in the Den is some of our favorite pieces - they are 1800's art neuveau originals. We found these gems on ebay and had them framed to fit the space.

We can't wait to show you more of this fun house!
