Brown done right

I don't know about you but when a whole neighborhood looks like a sea of all brown houses only varying slightly in tone or shade it doesn't do much for me. One can only imagine the inside of these houses could be just as generic. Today we want to talk about the color Brown, though it does get a bad rap, can be extremely beautiful, warm, and even delicate when done right. Let's begin!

We love the warm backdrop of brown for this neutral and richly finished space. It feels sophisticated rather than "rustic" because of the neighboring clean crisp white trim. The sophistication of the furniture and architecture help support the beauty of brown in this space.

One of the tricks we have noticed from most of the images is pairing the color brown with gold accents takes it to an entirely new place. It really makes the color pop and the glam of brown come to life.

We also found some incredible wallpapers with brown! The living room on the left has a beautiful brown grasscloth wallpaper on the walls and lining the bookcases. The image on the left, from House of Smiths, is amazing! We love the use of a bold patterned wallpaper in a brown color way in a tiny powder bath. This creates a moody and subdued look.

We thought we would share some of our favorite browns with you. We have included a wide variety, leaning all the way to the gold side and back to grayed out browns. We recently saw the Sherwin Williams color Sable in a showroom at High Point Market. It was amazing! Enjoy.
